XPENG VLA 2.0 vs. Tesla FSD in Amsterdam — Part 1: XPENG L03

September 28, 2026 · CleanTechnica · Score: 0

This is a car-tech story rather than a home energy one, but here's the gist. A writer got an early look at two self-driving systems tested back to back in Amsterdam: XPENG's VLA 2.0 (running on the automaker's L03 prototype) and Tesla's FSD (Full Self-Driving) in a Model 3, both on the same tricky Dutch streets full of narrow canal-side roads, construction, pedestrians, and aggressive bicycle traffic.

The XPENG system impressed the writer by anticipating problems rather than just reacting to them. It slowed smoothly for potholes and speed bumps, gave wide berth to construction zones, and handled bicycles without sudden braking, though its following distance felt tight to some riders and comfortable to others, depending on where they were used to driving. The car responded instantly to inputs, and voice control features (not yet active on this European test car) are expected to eventually let drivers control the self-driving system through conversation. XPENG plans an official European release of this technology in 2027. A second article will cover how the Tesla performed on the same roads, with a final comparison to follow.

There's nothing here about home energy upgrades or rebates. If you're weighing insulation, heat pumps, or weatherization for your house, this piece won't move the needle either way.
