Volvo trademark reveals EX50 EV name: Here’s what we know so far
This is car news, not a home energy story, so there's nothing here that touches your house or an energy upgrade decision.
For context: Volvo has filed a trademark for the name EX50, suggesting it's the name of an upcoming electric vehicle. The filing itself only confirms the name and that the vehicle will be electric. Volvo has said it plans to reveal two new electric models by the end of summer, reportedly an electric sedan and wagon aimed at the European market but possibly sold in the US as early as 2028. Both are expected to use the same underlying platform as Volvo's new EX60 SUV, which supports faster charging and longer range. Reports suggest these new models could start around $50,000 in the US, cheaper than the EX60's $58,400 starting price. Volvo plans to share more details at a Strategy Update event on September 17.
