Volunteer at the 2027 National Conference & Trade Show

September 29, 2026 · Building Performance Association (BPA) · Score: 30

This news is about an industry event, not something that directly affects your own home upgrades. The National Home Performance Conference and Trade Show is happening April 5–8, 2027, in Austin, Texas, and organizers are now accepting applications for volunteers.

Volunteers work as session assistants, helping introduce speakers, track attendance, assist with setup, and support attendees in the room. The commitment covers all sessions in an assigned track across all four days. In return, volunteers get free full conference registration, which includes access to general sessions, educational tracks, the exhibit hall, meals, networking events, and continuing education credits (CEUs) used by professionals in the field. Volunteers do need to cover their own lodging.

This conference is aimed at people who work in home performance and energy efficiency fields, such as contractors, auditors, and program staff, rather than homeowners looking for rebates or upgrade advice. If you work in or are closely connected to that industry and want to attend without paying registration costs, the contact for applying is Bethany Dittmar Sowinski, Director of Education & Events, at [email protected]. For most homeowners simply researching insulation, air sealing (sealing gaps that let heated or cooled air escape), heat pumps, or rebate programs, this is more of a background item showing that the industry is gearing up for its next big gathering, rather than a program or deadline that changes what you can do to your own house.
