Systemair Acquires Canadian HVAC Manufacturer Temspec

July 27, 2026 · ACHR News · Score: 28

Swedish HVAC maker Systemair has bought Temspec, a Canadian company based in Mississauga, Ontario, that designs decentralized HVAC equipment (heating and cooling units that serve individual rooms or zones rather than a whole building through one central system). Temspec has focused on energy efficiency and noise reduction, and is known for its equipment in multi-story buildings and schools. The company was founded in 1971, has about 90 employees, and reported roughly 29 million Canadian dollars in revenue for its 2024-2025 fiscal year. Temspec will now become part of Systemair's North American operations, which employ around 555 people.

This is a business deal between two manufacturers, not a new product or program. Systemair says the purchase makes it the leading maker of ventilation systems for schools in North America and gives it a wider range of products and a bigger sales network.

For a homeowner, this news is mostly background noise. Temspec's equipment is aimed at commercial and institutional buildings, especially schools, rather than single-family homes. There is no mention of new home products, rebates, or pricing changes tied to this acquisition. If you already own equipment from either company, or plan to buy commercial-style ventilation gear, it is worth knowing the two brands are now under one corporate roof, but nothing here changes what is available or affordable for typical home energy upgrades right now.
