Lucid launches ‘America’s most powerful 3-row SUV’ with over 1,000 hp [Images]

This is car news, not a home energy upgrade story, but here's what happened for anyone curious. Lucid unveiled a new high-performance version of its electric SUV, the Gravity GT-S, at Monterey Car Week. It pairs two motors for 1,070 combined horsepower and all-wheel drive, and Lucid says it can go 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds, making it, by Lucid's claim, the most powerful three-row SUV sold in America. It also gets rear-wheel steering and an air suspension that lowers the vehicle at speed.

The GT-S starts at $125,900 plus a $1,850 delivery fee, about $27,000 more than the standard Gravity Grand Touring, which starts at $98,900. It comes standard with five seats; a seven-seat layout costs $2,900 more. Buyers can pick from a few paint colors and leather upgrades for an extra $1,000 to $1,300. Lucid plans to sell it only in the United States, with deliveries starting in the fourth quarter of 2026.

For comparison, Lucid points out the GT-S costs about $42,000 less than the 2026 Cadillac Escalade-V, which starts at $168,000 and has less power and a slower 0-60 time. None of this involves rebates, efficiency ratings, or home charging costs, so there's nothing here that changes what a homeowner might plan for an electric vehicle purchase or a home charger installation, beyond noting Lucid's lineup keeps growing.
