Greenheck Redesigns Ventilators With Contractors in Mind
Greenheck has redesigned its Model CUE roof ventilators, the fan units mounted on roofs to exhaust air from a building. These are commercial and industrial-grade fans, not typical residential equipment, so this news mainly affects buildings like restaurants or larger properties rather than a standard single-family home.
The changes focus on making the fans easier to install and service. A new adjustable mounting base lets installers fit the fan to different roof openings without needing extra adapter parts, whether replacing an old unit or setting up new ductwork. A new wiring option keeps low-voltage control wires separated from high-voltage power wires, which building codes require, without needing extra on-site fabrication. Other updates include a motor unit that can be swapped out faster, a hood cover that pops off with the push of two buttons instead of tools, and a shorter hood profile that gives easier access to the motor and other parts needing service.
The ventilators are certified to industry standards for energy use, sound, air performance, and safety, including ratings tied to smoke control and restaurant exhaust systems.
For most homeowners, this update has no direct bearing on home energy upgrades or rebates. It is aimed at commercial ventilation projects, where faster installation and simpler repairs can matter for building owners and the people who maintain their systems.
