Evoke’s new $5,000 electric motorcycle can hit highway speeds, coming to US & EU

September 7, 2026 · Electrek · Score: 0

A new electric motorcycle may bring highway-speed rides down to a more affordable price. Evoke Motorcycles has unveiled the 2027 Nrgy, with a targeted starting price of $4,995 in the US. It can reach 120 km/h (75 mph), fast enough for city, suburban, and some highway riding, putting it well above typical electric scooters and low-speed mopeds.

The Nrgy comes in two versions: the Nrgy 6, with a 6.4 kWh battery at the $4,995 target price, and the Nrgy 8, with a larger 8.4 kWh battery expected to start around $6,495. Both use lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells, a chemistry known for lasting longer and staying more stable than some other battery types, though it typically holds less energy per pound. Evoke hasn't released range figures yet, so it's unclear how far either battery will carry the bike — likely best suited for city riding with occasional faster stretches rather than long trips.

Evoke, based in Beijing, plans to sell the Nrgy in North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia, with pricing, availability, and delivery details expected in the coming months. The $4,995 figure is still a target rather than a confirmed price, and final specs haven't been locked in. If Evoke can deliver on both the price and the highway speed, it could make electric motorcycles a realistic option for more households looking to swap a gas bike or car trip for an electric one, though anyone interested will want to wait for confirmed range and pricing before drawing conclusions.
