ARRAY Technologies has acquired Affordable Wire Management
ARRAY Technologies, a company that makes solar tracker systems (the motorized mounts that tilt solar panels to follow the sun), has bought Affordable Wire Management (AWM) for $203 million. AWM makes wiring and cable-protection equipment, including cable hangers and guiding rails, used in large-scale solar and energy storage projects. ARRAY first said it planned to buy AWM back in July, and the deal has now closed.
This is a business deal between two companies that supply equipment for big utility-scale solar farms and battery storage sites, not a change to any product or program aimed at homeowners. ARRAY says combining the two companies will let it offer a more complete package of parts to solar and storage developers, and help it expand into the data center market as well. AWM's leadership will stay on as part of ARRAY going forward.
For someone thinking about upgrades to their own home, this news doesn't change anything directly. It doesn't affect home solar panel pricing, installation, rebates, or incentives, since it concerns equipment used in large commercial solar and storage projects rather than residential systems. It's worth knowing about mainly as a sign that the utility-scale solar industry continues to consolidate, but it has no bearing on decisions about rooftop solar, batteries, or other home energy upgrades.
