Anker Solix announces wheeled power station with 4.5 kW output
Anker has unveiled the Solix S5000, a portable power station built to run larger home loads during an outage or off-grid use. It stores 5,024 Wh of energy and puts out 4.5 kW, with battery capacity expandable up to 30 kWh if you add extra units. It uses lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, a chemistry known for long life, and Anker rates it for up to 10,000 charge cycles with a five-year warranty.
The unit supports both standard 120V and higher-power 240V appliances, and can take in up to 3 kW of solar power across two inputs. Anker says a full recharge takes about 99 minutes on a 240V supply, with 80 percent reached in 64 minutes. Plugging into a regular household 120V outlet caps charging speed at 1.8 kW, so that faster charging only applies if you have 240V service available. Outlets include four standard household plugs, an RV-style TT-30 connector, and an L14-30 outlet for 240V equipment, plus USB-C and USB-A ports for smaller devices.
At 44 kg, or about 97 pounds, it comes with wheels and a telescoping handle, so it's meant to be rolled rather than carried. Anker is also highlighting low standby power draw, claiming 8.8 watts in 120V mode and 13.7 watts in 240V mode, which matters if you plan to leave it plugged in and ready rather than draining itself between uses. It's a step up from Anker's smaller S2000 model, aimed at households wanting more backup power and bigger appliance support in one unit.
